Act 2, Scene 2: "To Crush the Wetrocks" (Main Game Thread)

The 2E AD&D Homebrew Sandbox world of Genwald is large, ancient, and magical. There are many undiscovered/untamed places. The Sun Kingdom (European style, Late Medieval Human NG Monarchy) is the basic Campaign area, but PCs can end up anywhere.

The scars of ancient battles of titanic proportions mark the land. Wild magic zones, fantastical terrain, grand adventure, political strife, and even artifacts of wonder await. Choose your part and come make your mark on the world. A wide array of unconventional races and classes are available.

Nocturno will shake his head in agreement.

After pressing the trigger, the secret door begins to swing outward. The portal opens only about 1-1/2 feet or so before grinding against something on the other side with the sound of stone-on-stone. There is a slender space, though partly blocked with rubble. It might be possible for an unarmored elf to slither through, but it would be uncomfortable and might possibly result in being stuck. Jordek and Fin should be able to fit through uncomfortably but with no risk of being stuck.

For bullock to fit, the door would have to be fully opened

Katten remained silent, her hands were shaking somewhat and her breath was rapid, she held on tight to Dran, his closeness keeping her calm, knowing the Wolf couldn't see.

Findalsip addresses the rear guard, "hang tight here. It is highly unusual for dwarven construction to be so... like what you might 'see' there. that door should open farther. Any dwarf that would make a door open only that far would cut their beard in shame. I will help find the cause and see if the door can open open enough to let the balls through."

Fin passes the others and slips, without much trouble, through the opening to check out what might be keeping the door from opening completely.

Once through, it becomes quite obvious what the issue was. Piles of barrel and head sized stones lie heaped everywhere in sight. It would take some hours of work to unstack the rocks enough for it to open complely, though some jostling with prodigious strength from the other side might speed things up a bit.

Looking up, the vaulted ceiling of the cavern lies some 50 feet or more overhead, with barely glimpsed arches and architecture through gaps in the mounds of wreckage. The heaps of stone around him leave only a narrow space, though it is enough for a human to walk through abreast to clearer areas. It is clear he could try to make his way among the piles, or to scale one without much trouble. The mounds appear mostly stable.

If Nocturno can get to the front, and make his way through he will help clear. If that is what the plan will be.

"Well this is as confounding as running into a friendly Duergar." Findalsip walks back to the door and relays what has been found and what is needed to clear the obstruction.
