"Young Man, I am a Knight of Solomina, while that means little to some, it means more than just a mere solider." Karl speaks with a firmer tone than he had previously, one he would use on a errant Squire in need of some reminding. "I have not fought one of these, I doubt beyond Jerry many have. Yes, I believe it needs to meet its end, both to avenge those who have been lost, and to protect this place. But." He grips the Boys arm, not tightly but firmly.

"If you attempt to beat this alone, you will add to those we need to Avenge. I understand you are grieving, but you will do no good if you are dead." He glances at Azais, hoping Mira will return shortly.
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

"I think he would have come for us at some point, like Pyros said, he had a list with names, including my stage one." Mira explains as she grabs the Kender by the frilly collar. "Pyros, I'd wait till later, he wasn't there when you were there and probably only appears later in the day. Plus I'd rather you DIDN'T go alone."
So the Bite could have infected Pyros, yet one for person she had to worry about she muses as she makes her way back to the main group.

"Hi Del, looks like you missed the fun, honestly would have appreciated the help. Next time." She adds speaking to the other woman, "If you will excuse me, I'm going to talk to Azais."
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

"Need some cooking stuff," says Jerry as she hooks Merrick by the elbow and heads towards the kitchen. En route to him she says, "Need quite a bit of garlic. It repels most vampires."

======
OOC: Shopping for garlic isn't usually dramatic so unless there's something particular the GM has in mind I'm comfortable with skipping the specifics of acquiring garlic {whether from the kitchens or external shops) and just pay the cps.
Assuming, of course, that garlic hasn't been eradicated hereabouts.

Del shrugs at Elsa's words,,,, not really thinking herself part of the group, yet.

"Thanks Elsa, if it's all the same to you I'll stay and eat,, If they want my perspective they can ask me, I don't

need a sympathy invite if it's all the same to you. Not being rude, just honest and very truthful, I am capable

of entertaining myself if need be. Thanks."

Adding as an afterthought, whispering to her.

"I appreciate the kind thoughts, go heal your friends, I'll stay here and maybe learn something useful to relate

to you later."

Esker Manyblades

Looking again to his shield-sister, "Iscind you go right and I'll check out things on the sinister side. Be careful, I think our path leads us closer to danger."

Iscind

"Have our paths ever led us anywhere else?,"
Iscind says with a snicker, "Right it is then. Watch your step, you have a habit of always finding trouble and then dragging me into it."

Gregor will use his powers of observation to determine if there is "something subtly askew." Otherwise he will proceed after Iscind trying not to get in her way.

"Well now I feel like I could perform with you!" He looks at Mira.

Struts around the room. What to do while we wait for the evening and Haldrake to come on duty?

"Garlic? I could go help get some of that. What else do we need?"

Jerry can't help but laugh at the magnificent halfling. "Thank you, Pyros, that would be really helpful. Garlic. Wolfsbane. Some sharp silver, knives perhaps. A small sack of rocksalt. A pouch of iron filings. Those things would suffice."

The Broken Wheel: Interior: (Karl, Mira, Pyros, Del, Elsa, Jerry, Merrick)
He... had a list of our names?! Elsa says, in shock. How...? Why would he have that?! Where would he even get our names from?! It had to be before we left for the caverns, right? Karl isn't on the list... neither is Adrastia or Pytor... but Art is on there...

Once the healing is done and Pyros dons the frilly shirt, the others return to the common area. Mira moves off to speak to Azais, who appears to be sobbing in the corner. Jerry and Pyros discuss the resources they will need for later.

To Del, Elsa shakes her head. Don't mistake sympathy for pity. We've all been strangers in this land, not knowing the language, the custom or even where in the hells we are. But we have the same goal, getting back to our homes. Sometimes invitations are about keeping everyone on the same page too. Elsa relates to her what was spoken in private while Pyros was being healed. She goes over the fact that the Barman at the Old Kartakan was some kind of wolf-creature who attacked Mira, Pyros and Gregor when they were alone. She mentions the 'kill list' the barman had that had some of their names on it but not others.

Airand doesn't quite glare at the knight, but it is clear he doesn't appreciate the grip. It will die. And if I have to give my life to do that, it's worth it.

Mira passes by and moves to Azais...

[yeah we can hand-wave the garlic and stake acquisition. just tell me how much you want to get]

The broken Wheel: Exterior: (Cross, Esker, Iscind, Gregor)
The four climb the short hill and begin searching a wide yard-like area above that lies behind four shops. A few traces pass between the buildings, and a small bench sits at the overlook. A few scattered tracks move to and from the bench, but only one set makes no effort to aim at the seat. The rangers spot it and follow it towards the alley between the shops to the East.

Squeezing between the buildings, they come to a cobblestone road... much harder terrain to track upon. Gregor, however, notices an overturned cobblestone at an angle away from where the tracks enter the road. Upon closer inspection by the Rangers, the stone appears to have been tumbled by impact from one side, as if someone were crossing the road in quite a hurry and stubbed their foot. Following the same angle to the opposite edge of the road, they search for another print similar to the victim's... [one more tracking check please ^_^ ]

Grins at Gregor, "You have a good eye sir," before squatting down to examine it and the surrounding area closer.

Del listens to Elsa intently, nodding. She shrugs, looking at the woman.

"I hear you and do not mistake anything for whatever, Elsa,,, You seem to be the only one interested in me. That being said,

yeah I know I'm alone and want to get back just like anyone else not of this place. Maybe if you weren't the only one actually talking ot me and taking

an interest or care in me, I might take an actual interest in what is golng on with everyone. I took Esker somewhere but he hardly seemed interested in

my activities. Honestly I have always gotten by, with help from noone .You guys and gals seem to already have an affinity together, strong even before I

arrived. Why break up a good chemistry. If they really want me to help I will but I wont bend over backwards for people who dont seem to give a shit

about me or my activities. You go be with your friends,, I am fine."

Del turns back to her meal and concentrates on that, listening to conversations around her. SHe keeps an eye out for members of the guild.

AS an afterthought she hands over the flask of holy water.. "THis may come in handy for someone,, put it to good use."

Pyros struts around in his new shirt.

"New GIrl like my shirt? I think I might perform with Mira later."

He then heads over to Karl. "Arm wrestling? Can I wager who will win?"

Being healed and his new stylish shirt have put Pyros in a truly Pyros mood.

"I've been told I need to kill some time, so either let's wager on the arm wrestling, or maybe a game of dice?"
He will then whisper to Karl.
"I think I will be betting on you." /wink wink
Then in another whisper.
"I will require and escort to the Ol' Cataract Inn when Mira thinks Haldrake will be on duty."

"i won't ask if you are ok. Because that will be a stupid thing to do " Mira explains as she slides in alongside her friend, arms open she embraces her tightly, "I'm sorry. I.." she stammered, she'd what? She had no idea how to stop this thing..

"Airand is.. taking it hard isn't he?" She asks looking over at him.
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

"Ahh Pyros. You look white dashing " Karl answers, giving Airand a warning look. "I will escort you, if you promise that if anything falls from my pockets, you ensure I have it back." With a smirk he shakes his head at the arm wrestling. "Perhaps later on the challenge."
