Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"It was a test Galenye, a test that has sadly gone wrong. There is bad blood between the Brightblades and Crownguards since the War. Derek Crownguards Cousin must have taken up where his the man left off." Moving as quick as he can he moves towards the guard post.
Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"Grats me boy, but you are right, we are not finished 'ere, Lead on." Targin stows his bow and grips his axe.
Re: CH 5: The Traitor
(OOC: Does Karathos find the dogs? Do the other ones leave him alone at the task or do they honor the fallen Knight and his last wish, also protecting their friend who is defenseless unless he drops the knight on the ground unceremoniously?)
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: CH 5: The Traitor
(OOC: Assumed Erastin went with him, how else would he give the Knight his Gem? - Jerrard)
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

(OOC: Yes, somehow, I was directed to page 2 when I clicked on "view first unread post", so I missed everything below my last post on page 1)
"Are you sure the Crownguards live in Solanthus?" Karathos asks. He recalls the brief conversation he had had with Corya in his head, over and over again, looking for some clue. "I have spoken with that woman Corya, do you remember? I escorted her back to her quarters after we've been told the sword was missing. She had been talking to Sir Charles just before, and both were very agitated. But I cannot remember anything from our conversation that might prove useful."

"That is what I wish to find out." Erastin charges on, running back towards the guard house to attract some attention. "I believe he does."

Re: CH 5: The Traitor
After carrying out Kellin's final wishes, the party (half of them now covered in the man's blood) hurry out of the castle, through the courtyard, and back down the road to Solanthus' west gate. "By the gods, what happened to you lot?" asks one of the guards who stops them for the standard search.
Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"Sir Kellin, he has been attacked, we tried to help him." Erastin says moving towards them quickly, "Send for help, please? We need to find Sir Charles Crownguard, where does he reside?" Erastin keeps his head high, hoping his armor and his demeanor will tell the story. "He has something that belongs to the Knighthood."
"Please let us pass."
"Please let us pass."
Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"The Lord Mayor's nephew has been attacked?" the guard repeats, caught off guard by the news.
"Crownguard lives in his own manor, south of the city," the second guard replies. "Just through the south gate, and a little down the road."
"Wait a minute here," the first guard says. "If what you say is true, then someone needs to report this to the Lord Mayor himself."
"I'll do that," Selowen volunteers. Turning to Erastin and the others she says, "The rest of you need to hurry to Crownguard's estate. Just remember.., there has been enough death today. "Now, go!"
One of the guards calls for backup, and another guard is summoned to escort Selowen to the Lord Mayor's city home. The rest of the party is allowed to pass.

Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"We should go quick, but also think of a plan" Karathos advises. "There are likely to be guards, if we show up like this, we'll probably be ambushed."

Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"Indeed, arriving like this." He tries vainly to wipe off some blood. "Is waiting for trouble." He sheaves his blade, moving towards the castle, "I cannot lie to them, my deceit yesterday has caused me some regret." He keeps his head up, moving as fast as he can.
"We tell the guards we are here to tell Sir Crownguard the Lord Mayors son is dead." He looks around, "We do not go there to fight, the guards will be obeying orders, we subdue them if we have to."
"Unless anyone else has a better plan? Targin?" He looks at the Dwarf, this was his area.

Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"I suppose that could work," Galenye says.
Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"Parlay is good only until blood is shed, but it is worth a try." The dwarf follows, carrying his axe over his shoulder.
Re: CH 5: The Traitor
"We can at least try." Erastin nods to Targin, moving as fast as he can.
