Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
"Hmm, I don't think so," Echo says. "I guess Gonto likes things to be big," she adds as she walks towards the large doors to look them over curiously with the Pharise and Aegis even though she really wasn't invited to do so.
Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
"...way too big to open manually," Argis is saying as Echo approaches.
"Yes," the Pharise says in agreement. "There must be some other way."

Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
Echo studies the door carefully, looking for any writing or clues as to how to get inside the temple. That includes searching the area around the doors (including the statues) for clues without getting into the water.
Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
Echo searches around carefully, at least at her eye-level. There's no way to search way high up without some kind of flight or dangerous climbing.
Sure enough, she finds some old writing behind some vines that were growing over the wall. It's in a language she does not recognize.

Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
"Pharise, I found some writing," Echo says as she slowly pushes away the vines to get a better look. "I can't read it though."
Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
"Leave it to the scribe to find ancient writing," Argis says with a grin.
The Phraise hurries over and starts looking over the script. "I see, I see."
"You recognize it?" asks the paladin.
"Indeed, it is Celestial--the language of the higher planes," the Pharise answers. He then walks over to the massive doors and stands before them, clasping his hands together to form a circle with his arms. He then begins to speak in a language of beauty and mystery--one Echo has never heard before; for it is not a language of mortals, but a language of immortals.
When he finishes, there's a slight creaking sound that grows in strength until it almost drowns out the waterfall. The doors swing open on their own, revealing total darkness within.

"Mage," Echo corrects with a smirk. "But, on occasion scribes and mages have similar talents," she adds.
"That language...even more beautiful than elven," she says softly as she watches the doors open up to nothing but darkness.

"Mage you may be, but I hired you as a scribe," the Pharise corrects her. "Argis, form a scouting party and check out the interior for any danger."

Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
Echo looks to Argis. "Who do you plan on taking with you?" she asks.
Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
"Just a few people," Argis replies. "Your kobold might be useful. Did you wish to come along, as well?"

"Well, if you want Keet to come along, then I should as well," Echo admits.
Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
"Fair enough," the paladin says. "Get ready; we'll enter in a few minutes." He walks away to recruit some additional volunteers.

"Well, it is time to prove yourself," Echo says once she finds the kobold. "Before that though, I should study for a little bit," she adds as she pulls out her spellbook.

Re: CH. 3: Guardian Mountains
After she has memorized her spell, Argis approaches her. "Are you two ready now?" he asks.

Echo puts her up spellbook, and dusts herself off as Argis approaches. "Yes," she says as she slings her backpack over her shoulder.
