Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
sweet. good for getting us in place. i'll allow a chance to change or confirm the lineup after the first game post anyway, so no worries
Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
Hi,
If I use mount, I understand I can summon griffin without the riding gear, right?
Will the griffin fight? How heavy would it to carry saddle for griffin?
I'll replace 2nd level Hypnotic pattern with Fire arrows.
3rd level Fireball by steam blast
6th level Antimagic shell by Mass suggestion
Thanks.

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
Yes, you could summon a griffon mount. the verbage says 'to serve him as a mount' and says nothing about combat. i would rule it would defend itself if threatened, but will not follow attack commands. not sure about saddles i could look into it but i think it would be proportiona; relative to it's size.
keeep in mind, your character has no formal riding training whatsoever, much less for an airborn mount.. might i suggest 'feather fall' if you plan to attempt it...

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
ah, good point!
Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
I forgot to ask, can Bard use cantrips? And can Bard have a familiar?
Can you please also add in the first post of this thread few comments for the sake of my weak memory:
under "Inspired Performance":
"Inspired Influence reaction (fiery speech, jokes, sad story, sad tune, calming tune etc) - Move other groups reaction 2 (because of the Inspired custom NWP) levels up or down S.Th. paralization with -6 penalty.
Inspired Influence: +2 Attack or +2 S.Th. or +3 (+4??) to morale in 190' radius for 19 rounds.
Counter other bards inspiration in 30' (can he have bonus or both counter the other bard and at the same time have normal Bardic inspiration for his friends due to the custom NWP?)
"
And near "Little bit of everything" add explanation that it is 95% to detect magical item function and purpose? Does it also work for newly searched items done by wizards clerics or demi-liches?
One last thing: I don't want to kill the adventure too early, but would 'wish' to stop the plaque is legit? Would wish to destroy the demi-lich once encountered would be legit? And lastly I assume using wish to get insight about how to destroy the demi-lich would be legit just want to verify.
OK... Not last...
Sorry to come up with the questions so late...
Will invisibility to undead if the demi-lich fails S.Th. work on it?

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
Bards with the 1st level Spell "cantrip" or with the cantrip NWP may use cantrips.
-regarding wish opposing demilich magic and whether or not certaib spells will work against him:
the charcters have no idea what will or will not work before hand. that's part of the point.
using a wish to understand how to defeat him might help, but answers from wish magic are often cryptic and unhelpful
the basic bardic inspiration bonus is +1 attk OR save Or +2 morale (morale bonus only affects npcs)
the boost we talked about was for one aspect if i recall:

By studying closely the effect of One Specific Bardic Ability, a performer can improve a single component.
Bards can only specialise in a given Bardic Ability once, and they can never begin at first level specialised. When the Bard first decides to specialise in a particular Ability, he must decide what component of the Ability he wishes to emphasise. This can never be changed.
Influence Reaction:
1.) Reduce target's saving throw by -1.
Inspiration:
1.) Increase duration by +50%
2.) Increase area of effect by +50%
3.) Increase attack or save by +1 (so it becomes either +2 attack, +2 save, or +3 morale)
4.) Reduce the time it takes to create the inspiration effect by 1 round (from 3 full rounds to 2)
Countersong:
1.) Increase area of effect by +50%
Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
OK.
I thought the bard can choose any of the effect at a given time.
So we decided on +1 to attack I think, right? Which means that using the bardic inspiration it will be +2 attack, 190' radius effect for 19 rounds.

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
BTW, I'd like Galan to be under the following spells, assuming
Phantom armor: absorb 19HP and +1 S.Th.
Stoneskin
At the beginning of every day after finishing camp he casts on himself Cat's grace. For current day: [1d6] = 5
So since there is a cap at 20 I think, he is 20DEX (+3, +3, -4) for 19 hours. (Not sure why I took the gauntlets of dex...)
Faldair the Fair (and any other one in the company that wishes to):
Phantom armor
Stoneskin
Thanks.

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
so stoneskin like in LoM will last the hit-duration specified or 24 hrs, so that will take a spell slot for today. unless you want to give me a time yesterday he would have cast it. the party would know wjay dau they arrive at least,
Phantom armor requires a 10gp mithril square spell component. how many of those does galan wamt to start with?
-gauntlets of dex allow him to pick locks when he wouldnt otherwise. so even with cat's grace he wouldnt be able to use that skil, without the gauntlets
-doing spells for others: if you want to change your spell lineup, now is the time

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
Is it possible to cast 4 stoneskins on 4 of the company the night before? (I forgot it last 24h top)
Phantom armor Galan could have cast on the other members during the trip in the swamp. Or also 4 members the night before.
That way I won't have to change the spell lists.
I'd say Galan will have 20 mithril squares if that's OK and if others would like the spell cast on them it is expected that they will supply the square.
I'll pass on the cantrip and fid familiar spell.

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
on whom do you want to cast these spells?
the stoneskin spells will have about 12 hours left (sleeping, travel, etc)
20 mithril squares sounds fine
Phantom armor doesn't stack with magic armor, so Faldair the fair cannot benefit from it while he wears his magical plate

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
It still absorbs HP right? So it is still 19HP bonus...
Faldair, The mondoons and me.
Can the phantom armor apply to all from during the venture in the swamp?
With Elidyr we can have 7 stoneskins, so Sorril being a Paladin he will probably insist to be the only one without stoneskin

Re: BishGada (Private Thread) Tomb of Horrors
the phantom armor spell description specifically states " The spell will not function with any other type of magical protection."
All of the npcs and pcs aside from Galan have magical armor and/or rings of protection, and thus are ineligible to receive the phantom armor spell.
Since galan has 4 lvl 4 spell slots, 1 of the 5 stoneskin spells wil have to be cast today [Galan, 3 mondoons, Faldair]
Whom would you like the one today cast on?

Himself. As he will in the following days, first thing in the morning after memorizing the spell.
