Re: CH 6: Solace
Riverwind allows the old men to flee, he is only concerned about a draconian escaping.
He shrugs his bow off his shoulder and waits until he can get a clear shot. He assumes the melee group will scatter as the acid begins to affect them.
Notching an arrow, he readies for a quick shot.

Seeing her brother go down, and injured Laurana jumps off the table with abandon, running to aid Tika. With no care for the battle she drags Gilthanas into the Kitchen if she can.

Sturm backs away covering the fleeing Tika, using his blade to protect them if any of the creatures get to close. (Full defense)
(he is protecting women, thus he is fulfilling his duty.)
"That was foolish." He comments when he can speak again.

Tas loads a stone and flings it at the furthest draconian with a savage twist and hops over towards door protecting the entry while getting a better angle on his shot. (( init 6, To Hit 15, Damage Ala GM ))

Re: CH 6: Solace
Heedless to any danger to herself, Laurana charges right into the midst of the angry, silent kapaks in an attempt to rescue her brother. Her delicate elven feet burn as soon as she enters the acid pool, but even this is not enough to turn her back. As she bends down to grab Gilthanas, the nearest draconian cuts a gash across her right leg. It's not fatal, but the poison of the creature's venom quickly works through her body, numbing her. She collapses to the ground, unable to move an inch.
"Laurana!" Tanis cries. He hesitates, unable to act. If he attacks, the kapak's death throes will only hurt more people. Flint and Caramon draw their weapons and shields and move forward, but like Tanis hesitate, afraid of hurting Tika, Gilthanas and now Laurana, as well. Raistlin says something, but finding no voice, snarls to himself. He backs away, humming, until he can hear his voice again.
While one kapak licks his blade, the other two gang up on Sturm and Tika. But the warrior's defense is impenetrable by their puny, albeit poisoned, blades. They may as well stab toothpicks at a metal statue, for all the good it does them. This gives Tika the opportunity to safely grab Gilthanas and drag him toward the bar. The lass is stronger than she looks. Sturm slowly withdraws with her, keeping them safe until they are outside the dome of silence. "That was foolish," the Solamnic comments, but at least those in danger were now safe. Or so he thought, until he looks over and spots Laurana now lying paralyzed back among the draconians! Magpie charges right into the acid after her, burning her own feet in the process, but skids to a halt when she realizes what she's done. No doubt Sturm feels frustrated at this point. A hero's duty is never done!
Meanwhile, the last kapak ducks just as another stone sails over his head. Angered, he turns and heads toward Goldmoon. He jabs at her with his blade, cutting a gash across her leg. Like with Laurana, the wound is not fatal, but the poison causes the priestess' body to seize up entirely. Flint shouts something (silently) and strikes at the kapak who would dare harm Goldmoon. His axe sinks into the kapak's side, transforming it into pure acid, which washes over the dwarf, whose fervent curses are never heard. Luckily, Goldmoon is still on the table and so the acid doesn't touch her.
The three old men run out of the inn, shouting in panic, brushing past Riverwind. The barbarian ignores them, readying his bow. He has a clear shot now, but if he makes a kill, will Laurana and Magpie be hurt further?
Finally, Tas fires a stone from his hoopak, which smacks a kapak right in the chest, hopefully bruising some scales. The plucky kender then hops from table to table, as he tries to make his way over to Riverwind and the door.

Re: CH 6: Solace
Seeing Laurana down in the midst of the three remaining foes, he still cannot bring himself to release a shot. "Damn dragonkin"
He turns to close and lock the door quickly, even though he can't really even hear the sounds of fighting.

Sturm charges back into the fray, pushing into the creatures in an attempt to driver them back, hopefully giving enough time for someone to aid the fallen.

Re: CH 6: Solace
"Are you guys crazy?" Tika shouts out to the others, even though she knows that they can't hear her. Shaking her head, she checks on the elf.
Re: CH 6: Solace
Goldmoon lies there, paralyzed. She knows now how Riverwind must have felt the day before... the worst is that as long as she is paralysed, nobody in the group can do any healing at all. All she can do now is pray, and she tries to build a communion with Mishakal. She is not asking for divine intervention, but for guidance in how to find and educate people, make them worthy to receive Mishakal's gifts like her. Were there writings about this on the disks that she had missed? She tries to go through them in her mind.

Re: CH 6: Solace
Tas flings another stone once he has a chance to catch his breath. Though, he targets the nearest dragon man, this time. (( I will locate a roller with a log, but the GM can roll if he wants. )) "Routes?" Tas inquires with a half smile on his face. The idea of a good chase is appealing at times.

Re: CH 6: Solace
Checking on the elven prince, Tika notes he doesn't appear to be severely injured; only unconscious. The acid probably did more than the punches did, but he should recover.
Quickly turning his back on the silent battle, Riverwind closes the front doors. As he does so, however, he gets a brief look outside. Heavy feet clatter, and eerie torchlight flickers through the open doorway. It seems a large group is heading their way, possibly a score or more. The plainsman quickly closes and locks the doors, but he wonders for how long the lock can last.
Crying out in fear, Magpie spins on her heel and ducks under the nearest table, quivering and moaning. As she does so, the three remaining kapaks attempt a new strategy. One grabs the paralyzed Laurana and drags her out of the acid. The other two follow, one providing cover. The second one holds his sword to her neck threateningly. Although he can not issue any demands, his intention is clear--surrender or the elf girl gets it.
While Flint moves out of the acid, Sturm charges back in. But his attempt to push the draconians away is stymied by their threatening of the elven princess.
Tasslehoff still slings one more stone in protest, getting in the last word, but it sails overhead, missing entirely.
"No!" Tanis says. "Everyone, lower your weapons!" he commands. He can only hope that they listen to him, before the draconians kill her, either by slitting her throat or drenching her in acid in their death throes.

Re: CH 6: Solace
Realizing the situation is going to get more difficult quickly, Riverwind drops to the floor. He attempts to stay out of sight and move toward the fireplace, hoping to sneak away.
Re: CH 6: Solace
Tas pauses and hops down moving to the left of the dragon man holding his companion and waits for the others to speak. He carefully checks out the exits as he moves while noticing the shiny objects around the room.
